Ex. Dunhill of London. Christie's stamp. Good condition and bouquet. 3 cigars with foot damage. 3 cigars with minor wrapper damage. Montecristo stands as a pillar of the Cuban cigar industry. It was founded in 1935 by Alonso Menendez in Havana. The name comes from the famous novel The Count of Montecristo which was a firm favourite when read to the Torcedores (cigar makers) at the factory where it was founded. The Alfred Dunhill group played a significant role in distributing and marketing Montecristo cigars internationally, especially in the UK and Europe.
